It’s Never Too Late

…for a career change. If you’re thinking I’m too old, or too inexperienced then think again! Whilst the majority of my career change clients have been in their 30’s – there’s something about turning 30 that makes a lot of people want to jump start their personal or professional life; however, I still have been blessed with a large number of successful career changers in their 40’s and 50’s. Closing in on the former decade myself I know that it’s definitely NOT too late!

Career changing in your 40’s

With the pensionable age now being 67, if you’re feeling stuck in your career do you really want another 27 years stressed, unfulfilled and unhappy? My career changers in their 40’s have been in careers they chose, have been well-paid – extremely well in certain cases, they’ve reached excellent heights in terms of status and level. However, they’ve become disillusioned through internal politics – not being able to secure the changes that have been so desperately needed, that their current career has become so untenable it’s led them to some serious career re-thinks. This scenario, I believe, out of all the career ‘slumps’ people find themselves in , is the easiest to move on from. Why? Your skills and experience make you sought after and your current salary level makes the new career search so much more refined; not so desperate, leaving you with the time and space for your to make the right decision on your next career move.

Career changing in your 50’s

See above re pensionable age, still another 17 years to go! The baby boomers generation. The original hitting of the mid-life crisis; which by the way, I believe people are now hitting much earlier in life. 50 is the point when you most believe it’s too late… It’s not and here’s the proof. I’ve had career changers at 50 who come and see me, probably with the belief it’s too late, but are still curious enough to double check. Needless to say they have left the coaching process more than elated with the results. From setting up their own freelance business to successfully taking their existing small start-up business onto great new heights to rekindling their love (which had been previously totally lost) with their existing career.

So, whatever your current career change dilemma there’s always an answer and a way forward. Get in touch to find out yours.
